I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working remotely with clients in both California and Oregon. I am committed to and interested in helping my clients strengthen their connections to others while simultaneously developing the tools to create personal feelings of confidence, strength, and fulfillment within themselves. Although I cater to each client or situation specifically, my general plan of action consists of the immediate alleviation of symptoms in the here-and-now, in concert with an in-depth look at related patterns established throughout a client’s lifetime. I attempt to create a therapeutic environment through which emotional, intellectual, and experiential exploration may occur with ease. I employ a soft touch, but one infused with harmonious direction.
BACKGROUND AND FOREGROUND
I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of California in Irvine. I earned a Master degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University, with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. As part of my graduate studies, I worked for the following: The Orange County Department of Education, providing therapy for teenagers at a continuation high school; a local domestic violence clinic, where I continued working for five years; a drug and alcohol treatment facility providing counseling for addiction as well as to clients mandated to participate in drug and alcohol related parole and probation programs; seeing private clients where I lay the groundwork for the practice that I enjoy today. Currently, I work solely in private practice with individuals, couples, and families. I am also affiliated with, and see clients from a local drug and alcohol Intensive Outpatient Program.
THERAPEUTIC SPECIALTIES
I work with individuals, couples, and families. I do a lot of work with teenagers and young adults often addressing issues surrounding substance abuse and addiction. I work with depression and anxiety, as well as with the family systems they inevitably affect. I work with relational issues, specifically with codependency ranging from mild to extreme. I counsel couples to facilitate communication and understanding, as well as individuals seeking to end dysfunctional relational patterns. Another way of looking at this is that I help people to reset their radars and fix the way they “choose” or attract potential partners.
